Seems this site has been de-listed by Alexa even though the audience hasn’t dropped at all. They used to have figures. Now they have zilch.
My friend Stu, who runs peninsularity.com, originally pointed out about three years back that, according to alexa, this site was somewhere round the five millionth most-popular in the world.
This sounded pathetic until Stu said that put MYU in the top 1% or maybe it was 5% of websites out there.
I forget which it was now as I had had one or two ales- I’d like to say 1% because obviously that’s way more impressive but the conversation was had over two years ago and hey. There are probably more websites than there are people now. It’s very difficult to find any kind of audience. I’m grateful I have one.
A few weeks ago, it looked like this on alexa:
But now MYU returns a big fat zero (I have to shorten it to MYU because typing out makeyourselfuncomfortable is a pain in the bum and- TOP TIP if you are thinking of starting a website- make its name SHORTER than mine because most people can’t be arsed to type that much).
Could it be something to do with the following amazon review of my book?
“Gridcharts’ stories will make you uncomfortable, and the ensuing laughter is like cheap therapy. His prose works like an oddly calibrated jack in the box, and his wit is well sprung. The authorities should be well advised to keep an eye on this book and its author.”
I have no idea who that reviewer is but they’re astute.
And if it was you- thanks for the purchase!
“As soon as the coin in the coffer rings, the Soul from Purgatory springs!”
Oh yeah, while you’re here- I’m not The Guardian so I’m not going to beg off you like I’m an unwashed and stanky tramp who has repeatedly soiled himself (or herself, if we’re counting Polly Toynbee).
But if you want to buy a copy of my book, you can do so from lulu right here. It’s a quality print of largely filthy material culled from the site. If you’ve read this far, you’ll probably like it or be driven to burn big heaps of it.
Either’s fine with me, to be honest- the second option even better in terms of sales, obviously.
