Saigon Riverfront

A3 charcoal on paper.

I just drew this but it is of the riverside in Saigon three or four years ago. The middle area- which was some kind of scrubland- has since been filled in with more high-rises.

Some have asked what the structure is at the front of the picture and- although this is drawn from a photo- to be honest, I’m not entirely sure. However, in terms of composition, I liked the way it echoes the building across the river.

That said, it does add a desolate, Lovecraftian element to the picture.
